Salisbury Steak

Everybody loves to grill up a rib steak, or some burgers, but what do you do with those other steaks?  Here is a recipe that we love, using some of the less popular, but very flavorful cuts of meat.  This recipe works great for steaks from the round, such as the london broil or the western griller.  A flank steak will work great, or even sirloin steaks.  With just a few ingredients and a slow cooker, you have a delicious hearty meal.  This is our salisbury steak recipe.

Salisbury Steak

2-3 lbs steak (round, flank, sirloin, etc.)

1 onion sliced into rings

1 quart stewed tomatoes

3 cloves garlic chopped(or sprinkle with garlic powder)

Salt and pepper

Place steak in the bottom of the slow cooker.  Salt and pepper both sides of steak.  Spread garlic on top, followed by onion slices.  Pour tomatoes over everything and cook on low 6-8 hours.  Serve over rice, noodles or potatoes.

My kids love this recipe and usually have third helpings.  We turn the leftovers into beef stew the next day.  It works great!
